Remarkable South Africans
South Africa is often associated with its Apartheid history, with its crime, its increasing poverty and high level of HIV infections. However there is a very different story to be told of the country – one of hope, resilience and positive change.Together, Line Hadsbjerg and Pep Bonet set out to capture these stories of hope, interviewing individuals across the country who have made an inspiring contribution to the society in which they live. From great visionaries such as Archbishop Desmond Tutu, through to the “everyday giants” who have impacted humanity.
The journey is captured in the form of a book (ready for distribution by 1 May 2010), through moving stories and pictures, sharing the lives of remarkable individuals. A public exhibition of the pictures will travel South Africa, with the aim to inspire, challenge and engage individuals to be change-makers in society.
